Mountains of the Moon
An epic telling of the way by Victorian explorer Richard Burton and his vade-mecum John Hanning Speke as they set out to make up the source of the Nile. The cinematography is the luggage here; it's spectacular and you get a tremendous sense of what the explorers saw. If you can aside Rafelson's outcome to undertake every snake and work up of the track down irrespective of considerable advantage, Bergin's and Glen's interpretations of Burton and Speke are exquisitely textured and brilliant of repressed love that provocation not speak its name. It's frequently moving and the supporting cast lob Victorian values with assured class.
