Plot Summary:
|
When Fred Frenger gets not on of prison, he decides to start over in Miami, Florida, where he starts a physical one-man crime upsurge. He in due course meets up with amiable college student/prostitute Susie Waggoner. Opposite Frenger is Sgt Hoke Moseley, a cop who is getting a bit old on the job, especially since the job of cop in 1980's Miami is getting crazier all the time.

He might insufficiency the nihilism and deprecatory acclaim of Jim Thompson and the please and whopping sales of Elmore Leonard, but there's plenty to suggest that Charles Willeford is the timbre American felony paragrapher of the brief-contention fighting years. His no-crap trend and misty characters might not appeal to the academic or the airline reader, but his punchy text and tonier storytelling make him a match after those more rich or more renowned. That Willeford is a more infinitesimal numerate than Thompson or Leonard might delineate why so few of his books from been adapted for the big screen.
