Meet the Applegates
Lehmann's second feature continues to dabble in the dark side of suburbia that he exposed so ingeniously in the wonderful Heathers. The Applegates of the designation are a order of cockroaches who mask themselves as the typical US family in order to exact revenge on the industrial domain responsible notwithstanding the undoing of the Brazilian rainforest they notification diggings. However, they come across themselves more and more susceptible to all-too-insolent human weaknesses and fears: consumerism, adultery, drugs and rape. A black comedy that spreads itself a little thinly, you can either admire or be appalled on the labour of such a warped creativity.
