Map of the Human Heart
No Antipodean director has shown as much aim as Ward, whose scant manufacture is distinguished by a bad visual flair and audacity, and sometimes betrayed by a lack of maturity. For this, his biggest speculation, put forth between 1930 and 1965 and spread over two continents, he takes an epic fondness story. Told to a map-maker in flashback, it involves a young half-Eskimo half-snow-white satirize suffering from TB, who is taken from his Inuit village to Montreal, where he meets a half-Indian half French-Canadian girl. From then on his life is changed, and we catch him - via participation in the bombing of Dresden - well supplied circle.
