Plot Summary:
|
Philipe Gastone, a thief, escapes from the prison at Aquila, sparking a manhunt. He is nearly captured when Captain Navarre befriends him. Navarre has been hunted by the Bishop's men in return two years, ever since he escaped with the Lady Isabeau who the Bishop has lusted after. Navarre and Isabeau compel ought to a curse that the Bishop has placed on them that causes Navarre to be a wolf during the end of day and Isabeau to be a hawk during the day. Navarre insists that Philipe alleviate him re-enter the city to aid him kill the heavily guarded Bishop.

Richard Donner, who made the key Superman adventure, proves to force an elegant idea notwithstanding elderly as well enough as everyday fables, and it's all ravishingly filmed in Italy by way of Vittorio Storaro, who's worked with director Bernardo Bertolucci on films such as The Last Emperor and The Sheltering Excessively. Leo McKern dispels the dark from the Hidden Ages with a funny upset as a Friar Tuck-ish clergyman, and Matthew Broderick makes an appealing young male lead.
