Plot Summary:
|
A character scrutiny and a meditation on art in a pass‚ of opulence and syphilis. Gustave Klimt (1862-1918) lies in sickbay, slipping away. In reveries, he recalls the early 1900s: it's fin de si?cle Vienna. At the World Exposition in Paris, Klimt meets Georges M?li?s, who does a telling notion for him, and Klimt falls under the spell of a woman who may be Lea de Castro. We descry Klimt in his studio; we meet his nourisher and sister, who suffer from bonkers illness. We watch Klimt the Don Juan. On his deathbed and as a younger , he imagines things as well: encounters with ministers and wai... ters and with women who are pleased participants in his pleasures. Is this the roots of tricks?
