Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy
This jocose gem is fit for rediscovery. The Kids - a wacky Canadian comedy troupe not contrasting with The League of Gentleman - take on multiple roles, both manly and female, in their initiation mark. Untypical most movies planned purely as a showcase, it actually boasts a half-seemly machinate, involving a Prozac-like gleeful drug and its effects on the population. The humour - including jokes approximately 'flipper babies' and the singing skills of the media-exploited sick kid Cancer Boy - does slip close to the bone, but is handled so cleverly you'll be laughing past your disapproval.
