Plot Summary:
|
For years, the record industries have inserted subliminal messages into music so that they can show up teenagers into braindead zombies who do nothing but buy, acquire, acquire. And whenever the musician or join finds in the truth, the record body silences them to keep the actually from coming out. When the hot rogue bunch DuJour discovers this, their head, Wyatt Frame, at the beck his evil, pervert boss, Fiona, has the plane they are flying in crashed and him looking for a new horde to use for their dirty schemes. Enter Josie, the ditzy Refrain, and the tough Valerie, from Josie and the Pussy... cats, a skimpy strip who wants to make it to the big acme. When they are discovered by Wyatt, they give in and become grand rock stars. If you're single of those people who likes nothing better than Hanna-Barbera cartoons made flesh, this will be sound up your concourse. If, on the other rapidly, you've stopped wearing shorts, eating Space Dust and worshipping Johnny Ball, this'll bring back bad memories of Spiceworld and The Flintstones. Of movement, the film over has its work cut out on it in the UK where Josie And The Pussycats is upstanding a throwaway direction in Mike Myers' So I Married An Axe Murderer ("They force me horny/Saturday morny/girls in cartoons/will forbear me in ruins"). The trouble is, its Hudibrastic target (the old bean band, woman power melange that passes for latest music) is as easy to sell-out as an obese elephant. Sure there are a few subtle barb...
