Johnny English
A spoof spy thriller based on a long-running Barclaycard advert, mining the same scatological seam as Austin Powers and starring Rowan Atkinson
Inspiration for film protagonists can arrive from many sources: novels, stage plays, comics, newspaper articles. But Johnny English (Atkinson) is the first hero to grace the silver screen via a TV credit card ad. For English is Atkinson reprising his supercilious, incompetent MI5 agent from those Barclaycard ads. In the adverts, he was forever patronising his assistant, Bough, before coming a cropper, only to be bailed out by his sidekick flexing his trusty piece of plastic.

brilliant......
This dvd of the film with rowan atkinson as johnny english is very funny. The film is full of hilarious jokes and action from start to finish. the classic moments in the film are when Johnny has a fight with himself, accidentally shoots a secretary with his 'pen', gets his tie caught up in the conveyor belt when eating Sushi and having the wrong video shown as Pascal Sauvage prepares to rule the country. My daughter's favourite part was when johnny sings to abba in the bathroom scene.
well worth renting out.
