Plot Summary:

Joe versus the Volcano is a fable which opens with measure surrealistic scenes of the dehumanization of Joe Bank's job and work environment (at a company whose by-product rather literally screws people) with imagery that seems to should prefer to been inspired by the classic film Metropolis. Joe Versus the Volcano
Clerk Hanks is told that he has six months to live. He instantaneously takes up an offer to jump into a volcano on a remote archipelago to appease the gods in deliver for being treated like a prince by businessman Bridges, who gets to gain mining rights if the volcano doesn't out.
