Plot Summary:
|
A fellow-clansman and sister on spring break from college decide to take the awesome route home--an endless, desolate warp of road result of central Florida. Along the advancing they are run off the road by a strange stuff, and later they see its driver disposing of what looks a tender firmness down a drainpipe near an old church. Derry (Justin Long) convinces his older sister, Trish (Gina Philips), that they have to investigate, and despite all gambler judgment, they do. That's perfectly the beginning of this desert horror film, directed by Champion Salva (POWDER). Salva keeps the audience g... uessing at hand never settling into any particular style or rubric. The film veers gleefully in all directions, referencing such classics as NIGHT OF THE LIVING Beige, NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, and out THE TERMINATOR, along the body-strewn way. There is no dearth of original humour mid the shocks, gross-outs, and nail-biting anxiousness, and Philips and Long show off a refreshingly believable fellow-man-sister camaraderie. The supporting tint includes Patricia Belcher as a medium and Eileen Brennan as an eccentric cat owner. Francis Ford Coppola is the chief executive producer.

Jeepers Creepers
Victor Salva's Jeepers Creepers has the scariest opening sequence of any horror picture in recent memory.
Trish (Gina Philips) and her younger brother Darryl (Justin Long), on spring break from college, have decided to take the long way home through sparsely populated farm country.
They indulge in the usual brother-sister banter, with Darryl bugging Trish about why she isn't going off somewhere with her supposed boyfriend. Trish in turn razzes him about his bringing dirty laundry home to Mom. In short, they're perfectly normal siblings with a basically affectionate relationship.
Out of the blue an immense, rusty old van bears down on them, threatening to ram them or force them off the road. After a few terrifying minutes, the dange...
This is not a horror movie
The makers of Jeepers Creepers should be congratulated; they have created a new genre: Annoyance movies. Sure, it masquerades as a horror movie but that's not what it is. Okay, so, my point. In a horror movie you always (almost always) need at least one stupid decision to be made. If they kids did what we would do, they'd never be able to go into the woods and get massacred and that would be no fun. However, Jeepers Creepers is 90 minutes of stupid decisions. Let's give it a whirl, shall we? Answer me this: If you *thought* you saw a guy toss (toss like they weighed nothing) what you *thought* might be two bodies into a pile and then he chased you in his truck and ran you off the road, would you go back to see if the people who may or may not be down that pipe needed a hand g...
