Plot Summary:
|
From acclaimed director Chris Nolan (Remembrance) comes the history of a veteran constabulary detective (Al Pacino) who is sent to a small Alaskan borough to investigate the murder of a teenage girl. Contrived into a psychogenic plot of cat-and-mouse at near the simple suspect (Robin Williams), events escalate and the detective finds his own permanence dangerously threatened.

Entering into the $50 million budget range, the English-American conductor has crafted a beguiling Hollywood thriller that not simply satisfies commercial concerns but furthers Nolan's exploration of themes first studied in his debut 1998's Following and elaborately staged in Memento.
