Plot Summary:

Indian in the Cupboard, The
A review from someone nearer the age of this film's nine-year-old hero Omri (Scardino) would be necessary to judge the true success of this adaptation of a successful children's book. Adults will like its clever effects and the moral tone as original opponents - Little Bear, the Indian brave (Litefoot) and the Texas cowboy (Keith) - grow to like each other. They will take issue with the over-emphatic music and find it over-long at times. But the real audience has to warm to the two youngsters, especially Omri, who turns his modest present of a cupboard into a plaything of magical emotion. The reasonable commercial success suggests that the creators scored on most counts.
