I Am David is adapted from Anne Holm's internationally acclaimed novel North to Candidness. An infuriatingly soppy adaptation of Anne Holm's 1963 romance of the nonetheless star, I Am David sells itself - in the wake of the international attainment of The Passion Of The Christ - on the shade aplomb of Jim Caviezel, yet though he's literally in it representing about 10 minutes. The surplus of the film's torturously boring running time focuses on annoying man of the hour David (Tibber), who flees from a Bulgarian employees camp and sets slow across post-conflict Europe in search of sameness, freedom and a lineage.
