Plot Summary:
|
The Cardiff club scene in the 90's: five subdue friends deal with their relationships and their critical demons during a weekend. Jip calls himself a sexual paranoid, anxious he's impotent. Lulu, Jip's pal, doesn't regard much to impression in men. Nina hates her job at a lecherous food joint, and her gyves, Koop, who dreams of being a horrific hip-caper d.j., is prone to fits of un-provoked jealousy. The fifth is Moff, whose issue is down on his behavior. Starting Friday afternoon, with preparations for clubbing, we consummate the five from Ecstacy-induced fun through a booze-laden draw nigh... -down cock's-crow Saturday morning followed close the weekend's aftermath. It's breakthrough days over the extent of at least three of them.

A refreshing look at club culture free from moralising, the worst results of chemical excess seen here are painful, but comical, comedowns - oh, and the paranoid fear of lead character Jip (Simm) that he'll never be able to get it up again ("I'm having the worst case of 'Mr Floppy'"). That's not to say that the film is thoughtless. It's a more accurate piece and realistic because of this lighter attitude. Probably the worst British films ever. When this came out everyone was going on about this bloody film.
They cant even hold a decent telephone conversation!!! 'Geezer?'.
'Geezer, geezer?'... and on and on...
