Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
Proving that Culkin could possibly get separated from his parents a second time was a hard task, only made easier by the huge box-office takings for the first film. Thus, part two sees him lost in the Big Apple, running riot in toy shops and - surprise! - falling foul of the same bungling burglars. Where the first film succeeded in its mix of high comedy and cartoon violence, however, this falls horribly flat. Culkin is rapidly losing cuteness, while the action veers between horrible sentimentality and worryingly tasteless violence.
