Plot Summary:
|
Malcolm Smith, a star-struck movie enthusiast known for his timely feelings, wins a new convertible in a theater sweepstake, but his ownership is challenged at near compulsive gambler Steve Wiley, who hopes his forged winsome ticket will help him chastise away his bookie. After Steve regales a lovesick Malcolm with concocted stories round his theoretical next-door neighbor, sultry actress Anita Ekberg, they accede to to share the motor car on a cross-country fall down to Tinseltown. Steve is prevented from abandoning his traveling companion on individual occasions by the latter's bad mood dog... , a huge and voracious Dedicated Dane named Mr. Bascomb. They bond by sharing various adventures in Supplementary Jersey, Chicago, Oklahoma, and Up to date Mexico. By the over and over again they get to Las Vegas, where they come across the legitimate Anita Ekberg and prove Malcom's luck with craps, they have acquired a third fellow of their batch, Terry Roberts, an aspiring dancer, who becomes romantically affected with Steve.

Hollywood Or Bust
The incontrovertible movies collaboration of Martin and Lewis was in this splendidly enjoyable euphonious comedy, which, like innumerable of its peers, fills unconfined its scanty story with songs and general simple-mindedness. Lewis is the cinema-lover who will go to any lengths to come together his girl headliner (Ekberg), even if it involves driving pettish-boonies to Tinsel Town - which in this case it does. Martin joins him, although a Las Vegas stopover brings with it an ulterior motive for his poise on the trip - and the league is completed when they pick up both Marvy Dane Mr. Bascomb and glaringly obvious rapport talk into Crowley. Revenge oneself on though the coat suffered from some on-set animosity - which apparently included foreman Tashlin ordering Lewis off the fu...
