Plot Summary:

Family fare from Disney, this 1974 sequel to THE Derive pleasure BUG has the extraordinarily personable and impressive Volkswagen "Bug" help old-fogyish Hayes save her acreage from an evil real estate of the realm multimillionaire who wants to found a giant skyscraper. Herbie rode progressive into two more sequels in '77 and '80 (and then into tube!)

wonderful family film
just as i remembered it, the older disney films are the best. especially the non-animated ones. However my girls were very engrossed. Asolutely wonderful, was a treat to watch this on a cold damp Sunday. Highly recommended am looking forward to watching the other herbie films

Alonzo Hawk has made his fortune by destroying old buildings and putting new office buildings and shopping centres in their place. His latest project is to build the world's tallest skyscraper in San Francisco. Unfortunately for him, one widow refuses to sell the little firehouse she's lived in since the day she got married. Even more unfortunately, she's keeping Herbie for her nephew, and Herbie has decided to protect her at all costs. But what can a VW Bug do against a man who will stop at nothing to destroy the firehouse?
