Herbie Fully Loaded
Joe LeydonLindsay Lohan continues her reign as queen of Disney remakes with Herbie: Fully Loaded, a pleasingly retro recycling of The Love Bug (1969's highest-grossing pic) and its various feature and tube sequels. Though aimed primarily at a demographic much younger (and less aggressively hip) than the crowd that flocked to see Lohan's somewhat saucier turn in last year's Mean Girls, family-friendly comedy about an amazingly anthropomorphic '63 VW Beetle likely will further enhance actress's marquee value. More important, pic should prove a potent B.O. performer as G-rated alternative to darker and/or edgier summer fare.
Working from script credited to small platoon of scribes (and based on characters created by Gordon Buford), helmer Angela Robinson smoothly shift...
Great film for all the family!
Don't quite know what people are expecting when they rate this movie badly! This is a wonderful family film that you can watch with little kids and Grandma
Heart warming and familiar it brings a smile to your face and its good to see that these types of films are still being made.
Good wholesome fun and if your kids don't fall in love with the Bug then they have no soul!
Herbie Fully Loaded
The "little car that could" is back, helping teen racer Lindsay Lohan fulfil her dreams in this Disney family comedy
Possibly the weirdest thing about Disney's relaunch of the Herbie franchise, which brought the company great success in the 1960s and 1970s, is that rather than reboot the series with a fresh origin, they've instead served up what is effectively the fifth Herbie movie. This is underlined by an opening montage of clips from previous instalments like The Love Bug (1968), Herbie Rides Again (1974) and Herbie Goes Bananas (1980), charting the rise to fame of the number 53 Volkswagen Beetle with a mind of its own, and also showing his eventual fall from grace, ending up with him in a junkyard.
Herbie's saved from being squashed...
