In the summer of 2006, Sigur R?s returned dwelling to play a series of free, unannounced concerts respecting the people of Iceland. This film documents their already celebrated trip with thorough reflections from the band and a handful of different acoustic performances.
In 2006 post-rock pixies Sigur R??s played a series of unshackled gigs in Iceland, the mountains which has so inspired their mystically-bending drones. Heima, means 'homeland' and the film is an overzealous of that circuit. As befits a party whose music is as solidly inbred in Iceland as the volcanoes that lifted up over the boiling springs, it's as much about that endlessly calculated outcrop in the north Atlantic as it is about the band's own swelling hymns to - well, who knows what these songs, sung in a language of the bind's own creation, are actually about.
