Plot Summary:
|
On the daytime of their anniversary, workaholic and real estate agent Jim Evers and his trouble Sara notified of a unaccustomed phone get from a man called Ramsley. He requests that Sara come to the hidden Gracey Manor. Jim decides to pop up c uncover it into an opportunity to check evasion a admissible gold-wealth in actual position, but to see fit Sara, he claims it is a "family trip", bringing the kids along. Simultaneously there, Ramsley the butler insists that they stay, for a big storm is on the sense. The Evers are introduced to Master Gracey, who seems strangely obsessed with Sara. Ji... m goes off to talk to Gracey about selling, but ends up in a secret passage instead. The kids stalk a floating ball to the attic, where they manage a painting of a girl who looks just like Sara! Jim and the kids eventually discover the mansion's dark secret from Madame Leota, a talking head in a crystal ball. She tells them that Sara is in danger and to put by her, they ought to "lead the ghosts to the clobber chance." After some spooky adventures and surprises, the family manages to save the manor and Sara, all while knowledge a valuable lesson give togetherness.

Before the opening titles are even over, The Haunted Mansion has featured a poisoning and a hanging. You have to wonder what's become of Disney 'family' entertainment, as both this and the studio's 2003 hit Pirates Of The Caribbean feature hordes of murderous zombies. Ghouls may have featured in traditional children's entertainment for centuries - folk stories are riddled with supernatural horrors - but it's not exactly what you expect from Disney.
