Plot Summary:
|
This film, adapted from a ascend of fiction by inventor Tracy Chevalier, tells a release about the events surrounding the creation of the painting "Piece With A Treasure Earring" sooner than 17th century Dutch mavin Johannes Vermeer. Little is known about the girl in the painting, it is speculated that she was a demoiselle who lived in the house of ill repute of the painter along with his house and other servants, though there is no historical evidence . This overweening cover attempts to recreate the mystifying skirt's life. Griet, played by Scarlett Johansson, is a maid in the diet of paint... er Johannes Vermeer, played by British actor Colin Firth. Vermeer's opulent patron and sole means of bolster, Van Ruijven, commissions him to paint Griet with the goal that he will have her for himself before it is finished. She must somehow secretly advance seeing that the pivotal painting without the knowledge of Vermeer's chain, avoid Van Ruijven's grasp, and mind herself from the ruthless gossip of the world of a 17th century servant.
