Plot Summary:
|
Due to an fortuity while swimming in the sea, Francis meets the surfer Moondoggy. She's fascinated of his sport and starts to hang at large with his set. Although they obtain fun of her at cardinal, they teach her to surf. In a wink she's accepted and given the epithet "Gidget". But it's hard work to become more than a room-mate to Moondoggy.
Whereas her friend's thoughts are under toward the opposite going to bed, seventeen year Noachian southern Californian Francie Lawrence by a hair's breadth wants to continue with the trusting, carefree and more tomboyish pursuits in which they've unexcep... tionally partaken. While on a manhunt at the strand, Francie's friends are interested in the young men there, but Francie becomes more interested in what those men are doing: surfing. All the surfers treat Francie like one of the guys - albeit a smaller, less sagacious one - and nickname her Gidget (break in on for girl midget). The surfers' unofficial superior is known as the Kahuna, a thirty-something man whose particular goal in vital spark is to travel the superb looking for the adept waves. All the younger guys aspire to Kahuna's life. Regard for their less than amicable start, Gidget is ultimately taken call of the upon wing of one of those younger guys, nicknamed Moondoggie, who comes from a privileged background but who wants to red-hot life on his own terms, just like the Kahuna. As she spends more time with them, Gidget realizes that she is beginning to have in the offing those womanly feelings, specifically proper for Moondoggie. Gidget has all summer to try and take in Moondoggie to notification her as a woman. If he doesn't, it is possible that Jeff Matthews wish, he being the college aged son of a friend of Gidget's father, who has been fatiguing to set up the two all summer.Read more Less
