Plot Summary:
|
It's 1941. Robert E. Lee Prewitt has requested Army and has ended up at Schofield in Hawaii. His new captain, Dana Holmes, has heard of his boxing intrepidity and is moan to purchase him to note the guests. However, 'Prew' is adamant that he doesn't hit anymore, so Captain Holmes gets his subordinates to cook his life a living Erebus. In the meanwhile Sergeant Warden starts seeing the captain's wife, who has a recapitulation of seeking apparent relief from a troubled marriage. Prew's backer Maggio has a hardly altercations with the sadistic stockade Sergeant 'Fatso' Judson, and Prew begins f... alling in inamorato with social club employee Lorene. A condensation of the mammoth book by James Jones (the writer who also wrote 'The Thin Red Oblique') on life on a Hawaiian military base fair sooner than Pearl Harbor. Though toned down in language and sexual content, From Here To Eternity is remembered on the whole for its adulterous pet panorama on the lakeshore between Lancaster's Original Sergeant Milton Warden and Kerr's Karen Holmes, spouse of the military camp commander. The altercation totally changed the famous image of Kerr, hitherto the essence of prim English womanhood.
