Plot Summary:
|
It is 1888 in London, and the unfortunate poor lead horrifying lives in the city's deadliest slum, Whitechapel. Harassed by gangs and stilted to walk the streets for a living, Mary Kelly and her trifling group of companions trudge on completely this daily angst, their only consolation being that things can't bring back any worse. Later things somehow do when their friend Ann is kidnapped and they are pinched into a conspiracy with links higher up than they could mayhap imagine. The kidnapping is soon followed at near the gruesome ruin of another woman, Polly, and it becomes visible that they a... re being hunted down, the same by one. Sinister even away Whitechapel standards, the murder grabs the acclaim of Inspector Fred Abberline, a keen-witted after all troubled man whose regulate work is often aided by his medium abilities. Abberline becomes deeply intricate with the envelope, which takes on insulting meaning to him when he and Mary start to fall in love. But as he gets closer to the truly Whitechapel becomes more and more dangerous for Abberline, Mary, and the other girls.
