Fool's Gold
Claudia PuigFool's Gold is a foolish enterprise if ever there was one. In an effort to reteam Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey after their romantic comedy hit of 2003, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, filmmakers have tried to create a National Treasure-style movie that is neither exciting nor romantic. It's vaguely reminiscent of Romancing the Stone - though much more pallid and with far less chemistry than Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner had. Where How to Lose a Guy was mildly diverting and McConaughey and Hudson did have some visible heat, Fool's Gold strays from the romantic-comedy genre and suffers. By trying to fuse a chick flick with an action-adventure saga, it fails resoundingly at both. Hudson and McConaughey play a divorced couple, once dr...
A good ole fashion treasure hunt!!
I REALLY missed seeing a good treasure hunt movie like this. If treasure hunts are your cup of tea then this movie has it all and delivers in spades!! Action, adventure, history, Relationships problems, beautiful, tropical scenery, eye candy for both male and female viewers....the list is endless! This movie takes you on a mighty, adrelin fuelled rollercoaster ride from beginning to end. My only regret is that it had to finish.!!!
A really good, adventure movie. Don't wait, go see it!
Fool's Gold
Carina ChocanoAn action-romance in the vein of Romancing the Stone, only not as good, Fool's Gold is not so much a movie as it is an experience: an experience akin to spending a couple of hours in one of those theme restaurants that hawk the laid-back beach-bum lifestyle by plying you with drinks that taste like suntan lotion. In other words, it's a big, cheesy, familiar bore. With its garland of set pieces featuring Matthew McConaughey in mortal danger strung together by beach-groovy musical hooks, Fool's Gold feels at times like a third-rate Bond movie set to a Jimmy Buffett album.
The shirtless, flamboyantly mulleted McConaughey stars alongside a burnished Kate Hudson as a down-and-out treasure hunter in desperate pursuit of some bygone booty. His sensible w...
Fool's Gold
Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey are a newly divorced treasure-hunting join reunited in their search for a illustrious tug of ancient booty
The touch of Snow's Gold spend a propitious portion of the film diving for joy. Which is appropriate considering how this film plumbs late depths in the romantic movement comedy genre. Hudson and McConaughey were pattern seen flirt-fighting in How To Yield A Boy In 10 Days and here they reprise their roles as two people who can't stand and completely fancy each other in equal out. Finn (McConaughey) and Tess (Hudson) get divorced at the start of the film, simply he hasn't made it to the hearing because his boat's blown up and a gangster is after him. Men!
From there, the join reunite when Finn believes he's s...
Fool's Gold
Brian LowryThe bait of Matthew McConaughey shirtless representing extended stretches doubtless has some marketing value, but after that, Fool's Gold offers petite compensation -- a languid romantic comedy that, wellnigh out of desperation, turns a picayune more violent than needful near the end. Jewel hunting has certainly worked allowing for regarding the National Find franchise, and an earlier McConaughey-Kate Hudson pairing enjoyed some success. Still, after however many doubloons can be hauled up from the completely assess-measure, it's merciless to anticipate Warner Bros. separating too multifarious fools from their money.
Reuniting the stars of How to Squander a Rib in 10 Days in a more adventurous scenery surely sounded favourable, but in the hands of Hois...
