Plot Summary:
|
"Chop Chop" Frankie Carbone (Armand Assante) has made a livelihood out of shoplifting cars for the throng in Chicago. An attempted assassination nearby a mob boss goes badly and Frankie retaliates, only to crank up up in the hands of the Feds. Frankie agrees to declare against the mobsters and his life is suddenly unavailing - unless he submits to customary into federal shelter. The FBI gives him a changed repute - Howard Akers - and relocates him to a dull middle-league suburb in Elfin Rock, AR. Howard catches the attention of his fair neighbor, Leigh (Angela Featherstone), a bored fund-rais... er for a non-profit zoo whose husband, Dennis (David Lipper), is having an event - and she knows it, but she doesn't be sure it's with her hot-blooded sister, Bootsie (Dina Meyer). Leigh becomes friends with the enigmatic Howard, but Dennis and Bootsie see an opportunity to earn the million-dollar bounty the bourgeoisie has put on his genius by turning him in to the populace.

watchable.....
..... if predicable thriller on a timeworn theme - mob betrayal and revenge - but with a few new twists, some original and comic moments and a pair of engaging leads: not nice people, but you end up rooting for them! In the end a B-list movie, but a superior example of the genre with a little extra quirkiness.
