Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, The
The third instalment in the fast-driving, slow-thinking franchise sees the men and motors burning around the streets and car parks of Tokyo
There are two types of people in the world: those who think cars are cool and who find watching them tear around corners entertaining, and those who don't and who could do without all the noise.
If you're the first kind of viewer, The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift is undoubtedly the film for you. It's easy to mock the absurd fetishisation of the (essentially ridiculous) cars, and none of the characters are quite as cool as they'd like to be. Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, The
Todd McCarthyA used chassis gets a new supercharged engine in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Pumping high-performance gas back into the series after a second lap sputter, third entry stays in high gear most of the way with several exhilarating racing sequences, and benefits greatly from the evocative Japanese setting. As what's onscreen amply reflects the title, franchise fan base looks to be well satisfied, meaning domestic take shouldn't be far off the $144 million and $127 million raked in respectively by the initial entries.
Real action this time, however, looks to come from overseas, particularly Asia. Universal no doubt took particular note of how foreign grosses jumped dramatically between the 2001 original and the 2003 follow-up, from $63 million to $1...
Vrroooommmmm
here we go again the 3rd film in the TFTF franchise.
A new character in the form of the great Lucas Black with his Texan drawl. Very well played with a great supporting cast even the now big lil' bow wow.
As for the action as ever very fast with great stunts and driving especially the chase through Tokyo at night.
The soundtrack for this is also very good and you can see why teenage boys would love this film.
A more accessible film about drifiting than the film Initial D drift racer. Surprisingly enought it is the same stretch of moutnain road used in both films.
