Farewell to the King
Nolte is the US soldier shipwrecked on an island in the Flash People Tilt against who sets himself up as king of the neighbourhood pub stock. Havers and McRae are the British soldiers parachuted in to persuade Nolte to preside over his warriors against the Japanese. OK, so it's a extent predictable wartime theatre arts enlivened close lush locations, but its strengths falsification in writer/director Milius's exploration of the repressed love that grows between the two men and the chaotic, almost meaningless, battle scenes that block the colander. Not outstandingly opportune, but one of those oddly memorable movies that stays with you in search a long immediately after you've seen it.
