Plot Summary:
|
The firm story of Christopher Boyce (Hutton), a young All-American man whose job as a guard for reactive documents shatters his fealty in his mountains and leads him to a then mirthful, every once in a while chilling sideline as a observe for the Soviets, aided by his scruffy buddy, Daulton (Penn); it can't matrix, though, and the consequences are tremendous for Boyce and his family.

An overlooked entry in the CVs of all involved, John Schlesinger's sophisticated spy drama The Falcon And The Snowman is loosely based on fact. Focussing on the personalities rather than the process of espionage, it's a careful attempt to examine some of the tensions thrown up by the Cold War.
