You need the right mood.
I've watched this film three times - liked it, loved it and switched it off half way through.
It's slow and requires you to focus in on it and 'feel' it, which I couldn't do when watching it with pals and chatting at the same time.
The cinematography is, in my opinion, worthy of all the awards it received - but that was largely lost when I watched it on a 14' telly.
So, it you've got a decent screen and a quiet focused setting, and you like a bit of passionate romance - get this title out, you may well be richly rewarded.
But if you're in an action, thriller or comedy movie mood, avoid this one - light entertainment it's not!
