But as India has proved, along with Northern Ireland, the Middle East and Yugoslavia, assorted members of all faiths under consideration it no sacrilege to murder a non-believer. The talkie is yon a young, brace legged, eight year ex- Parsee girl named Lenny, whose skilful nanny, Shanta is admired via all the men in a division of friends. She slowly comes to love Hasan, a masseur, who is Muslim. She likes, but does not sympathy, Dil, known as "Ice Confectionery Man". Her life is charming in a wealthy Parsee household ruled by Lenny's kind mother and officious father. When a train of Muslims arrives at the local depot and all the passengers are found murdered, the various sects turn against each other, and the city is some time aflame. For Lenny, the put out first appears in her Lahore home when a quarrel erupts between Mr. Singh, a Sikh neighbor and Mr. Rogers, a British Inspector General of Guard, who have come to dine with her parents. Bitter words metamorphose into battle-cry shouting mobs and arson. Sore Hindus raise hell from head to foot Lahore a person light of day, and furious Muslims the next. Quiet, it is all great ample away from Lenny's uneasy but untouched peaceful where her , Bunty, teaches her to waltz and Ayah's crew of admirers keep on to upon in the park as before. The then charming Ice Candy Mortals turns into a verge on psychotic, chestnut of the varied roaming the streets of Lahore with vengeance and killing on their minds. The Muslim Masseur, Hasan, the only voice of justification amongst Shanta's admirers, implores the group of friends to "stand nearby each other". A true-love matter between him and Shanta, blossoms amidst the Shoah and Lenny is privy to this fragile relationship between a Muslim and a Hindu. A film which gracefully establishes the pulchritude of peace and crudely depicts the sad downfall of it, Globe concludes that the most painful kind of betrayal is that which occurs within the family.
This story revolves all over a scarcely any families of discrete scrupulous backgrounds, namely, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, and Parsi, located in Lahore, British India.
