Dr. Phibes Rises Again
In The Repugnant Dr Phibes, Outlay's abnormal had been fall on up as an up in arms avenger, out to maintain the lives of those he felt had been directorial suitable the death of his wife. He is a bit more reasonable here, but equally mad, tracking across Egypt in search of the wonder drug of memoirs that desire recover the beloved missus. More camp than sinister (including a great rendition of 'Somewhere Beyond the Rainbow'), this is a hugely entertaining sequel.
Dr. Phibes Rises Again
Vincent Cost out returns as the brilliant doctor, nowadays in Egypt searching for the elixir of life, but continuing to outwit enemies with macabre murders, each grislier and funnier than the mould. While it's not as sublime as The Beastly Dr Phibes, this sequel is mounted with lavish suffering by Robert Fuest — headman of several classic episodes of The Avengers — and serene scores superior in the twist and sniggering departments, mainly thanks to Price's perfect timing and grandiose camp fondness.
