Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead
Lively direction from Stephen Herek (Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure) and an unusually good script separate this comedy from the usual teen farce
Christina Applegate (Married ... With Children) has to grow up fast with Mom away in Australia, the nanny pushing up daisies, and a houseful of siblings to look after (including a very funny pubescent pot-head brother and his cock-rock mates).
The main plot follows her meteoric rise in a fashion house as she tries to earn the money to feed the brats back home, which allows the film's materialist ideology to run rampant. Combined with its overt lecture on sexual responsibility and family values, that makes quite a political statement (its Bush Snr-era Republican stance will probably take your breath ...
One of my personal Favourites
This is not your run of the mill teen flick rather it's a classy satire. Although the ending is farely predictable the story keeps you involved completely and adds some genuinely funny moments. but more important has the moral on the importance of family values. Applegate is pure gorgeous and this will keep you hooked to the end. contains some strong language and drug use.
