Plot Summary:
|
In the 1960s, Frances "Pet" Houseman, a sweet daddy's girl, goes with her class to a resort in upstate New York's Catskill Mountains. Cosset has grown up in privileged surroundings and all upon her to go on to college, go the Peace Corps and lay the superb before marrying a doctor, just her frame. Unexpectedly, Baby becomes infatuated with the 's cut a rug instructor, Johnny, a cover shackles whose spotlight is infinitely different from her own. Baby lies to her shepherd to corrupt money to settle respecting an illicit abortion in the interest Johnny's dance partner (Johnny is not the chapla... in). She then fills in as Johnny's dance husband and it is as he is teaching her the tea dance boring that they break apart in love. It all comes apart when Johnny's friend falls severely cataclysm after her abortion and Coddle gets her father, who saves the girl's life. He then learns what Baby has been up to, who with and worse - that he funded the illegal abortion. He bans his daughter from any more distant association with "those people". In the basic calculatedly willful action of her life, Babe in arms later sneaks out of the closet to see Johnny - ostensibly to defend for her originator's rudeness - and ends up consummating her relationship with Johnny. A vulnerable fellow vacationer sees Pamper lurking free of Johnny's bungalow the next morning and in an act of quid pro quo, tells management that he is chief for a theft the evening in the forefront, knowing he would not provide his actual whereabouts. In an portray of firmness, Baby states that Johnny is babe in arms, and alibis him at near confessing that they were together all night. This announcement causes a huge split in the household and Baby makes an impassioned speech to her hot under the collar and bereft father. At the closing night performances, and although he has been fired and banned from attending, Johnny returns and takes the stage to tell each close by the woman whose faith in him and whose heroism changed his life. They do anyone final show-stopping dance together. Baby's father learns that Johnny was not responsible in behalf of his alter ego's pregnancy and learns to accede to that although his dear daughter is transitioning to womanhood, she resolve always him.

Wonderful
As this is my favourite movie of all time I can honestly say it is fantastic!!! A magically heart warming, love story with a fabulous soundtrack and Patrick Swayze's dance moves to boot! At the same time touching on a number of emotive issues thoughtfully and with sensitivity which lifts this movie above the rest - sit back relax - see it MY WAY !
Toe tapping great
I remember seeing this movie at the age of 17 in 1987 and it has become one of my favourite films of all time and I have a copy on video but I am now buying on DVD. The music and dancing is electric even after 17 years since it was first made. The two main characters were made for each other.
This film has not aged at all and for a gal of the ripe age of 34 it is timeless and can be watched over and over again. To be honest I have lost count how many times I have watched it.
