An insult to George A. Romero's original....and all other zombie horror films for that matter
Where do I begin? This 'remake' is so bad I'm almost lost for words. It's simpler just to list why you should avoid watching it:
a) From the very beginning it feels like a made-for-TV movie.
b) The story is predictable, has no cohesion and no suspense at anytime.
c) It never scares or surprises you as a zombie film should.
d) The characters are very stereotypical and the acting is dire.
e) How and why Ving Rhames got involved in this is a mystery (Dawn of the Dead remake this ain't).
f) The special effects are mostly terrible.
g) It makes you laugh during scenes which are supposed to shock you.
h) It rip's off so many ideas done much better in other films, including 28 Days/Weeks Later, Resident Evil and The Th...
Day of the Dead
A very disappointing George Romero re-make and a total waste of eighty five minutes of my life if I'm honest. When a small Colorado town is over run by the flesh hungry dead a small group of survivors led by Sarah Bowman (Mena Suvari) try to escape in a last ditch effort to stay alive. A poor script, some debatable acting and special effects and an attempt at comedy is all thrown into the mix and quite frankly it's like watching a car crash in front of your eyes.
It's so far removed from the excellent Dawn of the Dead (2004) even a cameo from Ving Rhames who played Kenneth the policeman in the very same film just doesn't save this one from itself. It's just one zombie film too far in my opinion they should have left well alone so we could remember the 1985 v...
