Plot Summary:
|
Lt. John Dunbar is dubbed a hero after he accidentally leads Union troops to a victory during the Domestic Combat. He requests a placing on the western frontier, but finds it rejected. He promptly finds out he is not alone, but meets a wolf he dubs "Two-socks" and a curious Indian ethnic group. Dunbar quickly makes friends with the tribe, and discovers a whitish lady-in-waiting who was raised nearby the Indians. He gradually earns the bearing of these native people, and sheds his white-man's ways.

Dances with Wolves
Actor-director Kevin Costner's seven-Oscar winning moment of greatness
In this epic Western Costner plays a depressed American Civil War Lieutenant who finds himself alone on the frontier.
He makes friends with a wolf and Sioux Indians and gradually becomes intimately involved in their day to day life.
The film's real joy rests in Costner's meticulous attention to historical detail, creating a world that is both moving and credible. Unfortunately, success went to his head, and Costner went on to make Waterworld and The Postman.
Only half the movie...
This is a great movie, the interaction between Costner's character and the native Americans is very believable. Enjoyable adventure. Highly recommended.
Make sure you rent disc 2 also, only half the movie is on disc 1.
