A warm glow
I first watched this film when I was young; still to this day, the film brings a nice warm feeling inside. With a combination of comedy and a sense of cuteness thrown in the mix, this film will bring a smile to everyone young or old and make you feel that family will be there for you in your time of need.
Highly recommended on my behalf.
Curly Sue
Hughes has made his share of teen classics in his time, but his stab at the under-10s market is largely undistinguished. Porter is the nine-year-old who teams up with Belushi. He is trying to coax money out of unsuspecting drivers by having his protegée leap in front of cars nearly causing accidents. When lawyer Lynch takes them in, free food and eventually romance are on the agenda, but there are some problems to overcome first. Hughes' pedestrian script doesn't shy away from pulling every string available to advance the film's cuteness quotient, and most audiences will find this manipulative and nauseating.
