Plot Summary:
|
Bickering imprint-siblings together quietly call the tune much of the group lives of the students in an affluent NY prep school. Sebastian sees himself as a kindly of Don Juan, who eternally gets his lady, while Katherine would to some extent pass revenge on ex-flames and suborn incoming freshmen. One day, Kathryn and Sebastian, driven via a reciprocated voracity for each other and a charge from of messing with artless young people's lives, hatch a nefarious design, and appropriate a kind of stake. Sebastian is to woo and bed the daughter of the inexperienced headmaster (a really adamant virg... in with plans to only "stay until marriage"), and if he is able to gain this seemingly impossible reprehend, he can eat his moving with Kathryn - the limerick woman whom he KNOWS he can not have. If he is not able to seduce the ice queen, however, Katherine gets his venerable buggy.

Dangerous Liasons Is Better
Like the title says, this film is an inferior remake to a classic film. John Malkovich sizzles in the original, as do Michelle Pfeiffer, Uma Thurman, Glenn Close etc.
But this... well I guess if you like Buffy, and have had teen fantasies about Sarah Michelle Gellar, you'll probably like this. In my opinion she can't act, and tends to annoy me whenever on the screen. Her male co-star though is a much better actor, and it is down to him that this film is not appalling. Playing evil characters obviously comes natural to this guy, and although no-match to Malkovich, he ain't bad.
The writers have made a decent effort to modernise the story from the original, and many many people will like this film, and think it's very sexy and cool. I wasn't that bothered, b...
