Plot Summary:
|
Two ghostly masters - writer Stephen Monarch and pilot George A. Romero - conjure up five striking yarns, each a prodigious employ in the ghouls-and-gags style of classic '50s horror comics. A murdered man emerges from the sombre owing Minister's Date cake. A meteor's trickle makes everything... grow. A professor selects his chain as a titbit for the sake of a crated material. A crafty husband plants two lovers up to their necks in terror. A malevolent millionaire with an insect phobia becomes the prey of a cockroach army. Tote up the vigorous performances of a fine form (Hal Holbrook, Adrienn... e Barbeau, Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson, E.G. Marshall and King himself) and the ghoulish makeup wizardry of Tom Savini. Let the Creepshow begin!

25 YEAR ANNIVERSARY EDITION...
Wow! Is it really 25 years since this film first hit our screens? This film comprises 5 short stories, linked by a comic book. Best segments are 'Something to Tide You Over' with the excellent Leslie Nielsen playing it straight and 'They're Creeping up on You', played by a paranoid EG Marshall and cast of thousands! Worst segment, hence the four stars, is 'The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill' played by he who cannot act Stephen King (I recommend skipping over this segment). 'The Crate' and 'Father's Day', with Adrienne Barbeau (the DJ in The Fog), and Ed Harris (The Abyss) respectively, round off a near excellent film.
