Plot Summary:
|
Decades after a rock church in communist Rumania's Carpathians caved when an expedition caused a landslide and buried everyone, Dr. Nicolai's scientific unite exploring the associated Templar Knights hellishness fighting-folk tale discovers a fervent, flooded cave technique and hires the brothers Jack and Tyler's discerning divers collaborate to explore it. Another explosion traps them, after discovery a recondite leech turning all species carnivore, and later an independently evolved predator species. Jack may be infected and turning, but Tyler sticks with him, so the number splits, hunted b... y the monsters, which also fly.

Disappointing
The action scenes in The Cave are confusing, and difficult to see what is going on.
Released around the same time as The Descent - I would advise watching that instead.

A prologue set in "cold war Romania, 30 years ago" sets the scene. Freebooters enter a prohibited area and arrive at a 13th century church in the mountains. When they use some explosives, a landslide buries the church and traps them in a cave beneath. Fade to black.
