Plot Summary:

Based on Joseph Heller's much-loved most desirable-selling novel, this again disturbing antiwar mockery centers hither a group of Exultant War II fliers in the Mediterranean and the insanity of in contention. The catch-22 of the title deals with a military snafu that results when a bombardier in the war attempts to get out of the military past feigning insanity--however, completing the paperwork for the benefit of this proves him sane. Mike Nichols (THE GRADUATE) directed this wacky romp, getting supporting help from such stars as Alan Arkin (who makes the matchless Yossarian), Art Garfunkel... , Bob Newhart, Anthony Perkins, Martin Sheen, and Orson Welles.

War is hellishly funny in this adaptation of Joseph Heller's satirical novel 'Catch-22'. It may not coordinate the linguistic precocity of the publication, but big cheese Mike Nichols' chat up advances to Heller's grandstanding literary tour de effective regarding a group of US Haughtiness Binding pilots in the Mediterranean during the Alternate Superb Clash features a host of entertaining performances from its big name supporting cast, and offers a poignant do the trick on the incongruity of war. Alan Arkin stars as Captain Yossarian, a paranoid bombardier convinced that everyone is old hat to kill him. He's right, of without a doubt, but it's the people presumably on his side who be shown more dangerous than the enemy soldiers manning the anti-aircraft guns...
