Plot Summary:
|
This jocular spoof of Shakespeare's ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA is filled with numerous puns, plots, and double-meanings. Ancient information was not at all so much lampoon. The take stars Amanda Barrie, Sid James, Kenneth Williams, Joan Sims, and other Carry On regulars.

Carry on Cleo
Sporadically amusing make fun of of the Elizabeth Taylor epic, granting it should have been much funnier.
Carry on Cleo
Mercilessly mocking Elizabeth Taylor's disastrous Cleopatra, this corking ancient old hat lesson was also filmed at Pinewood and sees the Carry On team at the top out of their powers. It's hard to know where to start lavishing the praise. The puns be dressed never been better ("outrage, loathsomeness, they've all got it in fitted me!") and the sets are unqualifiedly decorated (and very affable!). Amanda Barrie is exquisitely dippy in the denominate role, and Kenneth Connor and Jim Dale do well as the Britons in the imperial guard. But topping them all are Sid James's depraved Mark Antony and Kenneth Williams's snivelling Caesar.
