Enjoyable Family Film
We really enjoyed this film, which is a true story about G.Lintz who loved animals and she and her husband had chimps, dogs, cats, and many other pets. The chimps and a gorilla!! She dressed them up in clothes!
Our children, really loved it and watched it a few times over. They liked the chimps who got up to alot of tricks!!
It is a funny and interesting film. Well worth watching.
Buddy
True life tale which centres on the extraordinary relationship between eccentric American millionairess Gertrude Linz and the baby gorilla which she adopted in the 20s and raised as her own child. Linz clearly shared a singular understanding with her pets, but there is a nagging suspicion that it may have been at the cost of her sanity. With little kiddie or commercial appeal the audience for this picture is most likely to be limited to fanatical animal activists and psychotherapists. That said, Russo, Coltrane and Cumming are eminently watchable and the period setting proves a welcome diversion.
