Boiling Point
A curiously thoughtful action movie, which places more emphasis on its characters than on lavish special effects and noisy shoot-outs. Snipes is the federal agent who is given one week to solve the murder of his partner before being transferred to another department; meanwhile, obvious suspect Red (a flame-haired Hopper) is doing his best to evade capture, aided by his lunk-head assistant Ronnie (Mortensen). Action fans may be a tad disappointed by the slow pace, but Boiling Point is that rare movie which actually allows Snipes, frequently underused in throw away roles, to display his skills as an actor.
