Good Suspense
Enjoyable with unexpected ending but tame slow at times
Body Heat
Oversexed and superfluous, not to naming uncredited, refit of Double Indemnity (qv). Some validation of vitality does not lift that 'I be struck by been here before' feeling.
Body Heat
This bright directorial debut from Lawrence Kasdan packs a steamed up bore. William Hurt plays the small-municipality lawyer who falls on femme fatale Kathleen Turner only to find himself ensnared in a ambiguous plot to homicide her wealthy repress (Richard Crenna). Kasdan respectfully tips his hat to classics such as Double Privilege, but the puzzling plotting and sly waggishness protect that his sheet stands in its own above-board. The performances are before all status, too: Turner undeniably sizzles, while Impaired is excellent as the ordinary Joe getting increasingly incorrect of his depth. There's also a creepy cameo from Mickey Rourke and a festive supporting position for the then unfamiliar Ted Danson.
