Plot Summary:
|
It is 14th century Yuan Dynasty China, the countryside is under Mongolian rule and the distinguished-crossed lovers, Jinha and Sullie, illegitimate daughter of a Mongolian commander, are caught in the middle. When her shelter died, Sullie?s generate, Taruga, took her away and later planned to marry her slow to form an affinity with a compelling Chinese warlord. Bichunmoo
With Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Ang Lee and co took the martial arts epic to a new level, particularly in its more subtle, cultivated handling of relationships and emotions. Bichunmoo attempts something similar, but director and co-writer Kim Young-Jun is no Ang Lee, he doesn't have that ability to perceive the feature in a way that transcends discrimination (but hey, it is his feature debut). As such, Bichunmoo may seem degree muddled to Western audiences. Although it bypassed cinemas in the UK, it was a stupendous smash in Korea though - beaten at the clout office in 2000 only by Activity Impossible 2 and Gladiator.
