Plot Summary:

BARRY LYNDON is Stanley Kubrick's epic clothes dramatic art based on William Makepeace Thackeray's picaresque creative. It tells the piece of a young rogue who wanders through moving spirit getting frenzied in miscellaneous adventures, meeting his ration of women and oddball characters. When Redmond Barry (Ryan O'Neal, trying desperately to maintain an Irish brogue) becomes green with envy of Captain Quin's advances on Barry's revered cousin, he challenges the inhibit to a duel. Winning the duel, young Barry is faked to give over his home and his mother, and off on his adventures he goes. He meets thieves, eremitical soldier brides, Prussian army leaders, and British widows, inventing untrodden stories about himself at every turn of the alleyway. ... BARRY LYNDON is lush and superb, sparkling with color, every frame reminiscent of the finest European expertise. The blues of the Prussian army uniforms and the reds of the British contrast sharply with the majestic green land and mountains in nearly every offing. Kubrick time after time begins a like a flash airless in, then zooms d‚mod‚ to reveal the lovely consonant vista and Ossianic rooms circumambient the for the nonce seemingly puny characters. With peppy performances from O'Neal, Marisa Berenson, Hardy Kruger, and Leonard Rossiter, jaw-dropping camerawork, spectacular accepted lighting, and a marvelous Greek-music soundtrack painstakingly put together about Kubrick, BARRY LYNDON is a histrionic wild epic that may be Kubrick's most beautiful haze.
