Plot Summary:
|
After Budding York Metropolis is damaged by hundreds of shallow meteorites, NASA discovers an asteroid the extent of Texas is on a crash course with Earth. They apprentice the best engrossed core driller in the world, Harry Stamper, to tutor astronauts who intent begin to the asteroid, drill into the center and detonate a atomic warhead. Harry says he can't guide men how to drill in ten days, so he brings in his own party of roughnecks to learn to become astronauts and get the pursuit done. One of his line-up is the fianc? of his own daughter.

good film far fetched? who know's. The film is believable and has your attention throughout, keep's you on the edge of your seat, a little bit of romance as well for good measure
Armageddon
Overlong action thriller starring Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck. A weak script is almost made up for by some spectacular special effects and the interesting proposition of New York being dusted by a giant asteroid
New York wasn't a good place to be in the late 90s. If you weren't being stomped on by dinosaurs, you were having to deal with alien invasions or being blasted by rocks from outer space. This is one of the asteroid disaster flicks.
Willis in full action mode is the leader of a group of oil drillers sent into space to plant a nuclear warhead in the asteroid and blast it apart. On his crew are Affleck (who is affianced to Willis' daughter, Tyler), Buscemi and Duncan, among others.
