Plot Summary:
|
Amistad is the name of a toil despatch traveling from Cuba to the U.S. in 1839. It is carrying a cargo of Africans who get been sold into slavery in Cuba, taken on board, and chained in the carload witter on about b hold out of the ship. As the transport is crossing from Cuba to the U.S., Cinque, who was a tribal leader in Africa, leads a rise up against and takes over the ship. They carry on to sail, hoping to find help when they land. As a substitute for, when they reach the Pooled States, they are imprisoned as unchecked slaves. They don't speak a word of English, and it seems they are fa... ted to die for killing their captors when an abolitionist lawyer decides to flee to their protection, arguing that they were free citizens of another country and not slaves at all. The turn out that in the event of inexorably gets to the Matchless Court, where John Quincy Adams makes an rousing and glib plea for their release.

Highly recommended
A movie that deals with the conflict between the rule of law and the wishes of politicians. Dull? Not at all. Watch this and see how much, or how little, has changed over the years.
Excellent performances all round from established stars and newcomers alike, though Morgan Freeman's character could have been developed more.
Enormously watchable and highly recommended!

Good at begining but got fed-up with all subtitles,stuck it for half an hour then turned it off.
